THE REAL PURPOSE OF HIS COMING

The Bible says that Christ was manifested to take our sin away (1 John
3:5,6). Many professing Christians believe that Christ came for only one
reason and that is to forgive sin (Collossians 1:13,14). Jesus
came to forgive sin and to take away sin. You might ask; "What's the
difference?" In the Old Testament (the Old Covenant), there was also
forgiveness of sins. In the book of Psalms, we read many times where David
expresses God's readiness to forgive (Psalms 86:5, 32:5). David also states
that as far as the east is from the west has God removed our sins from
us when we ask forgiveness with repentance (Psalms 103:3,11,12). A person
could obtain forgiveness for his sins before Christ's coming as stated in the
book of Psalms and throughout the Old Testament (Isaiah 1:18); this was
thousands of years before Christ's coming.

The problem was that the sacrifice for sins in the Old Testament -- bulls and
he goats -- could not take away sin as stated in the New Testament (Hebrews
10:4,11). A person could only obtain forgiveness for sins in the Old
Testament, not freedom from sin's power or attaining perfection in the sense
of ceasing to sin. Making a sinless life available was the purpose of Christ's coming.
(Hebrews 7:11). This is the good news! We are now free from the power of sin
through Christ's death, burial and resurrection to live a life without sin.
(Roman 8:34). John the Baptist proclaims, "Behold the Lamb of God which takes
away the sin of the world," (John 1:29). Christ died that your sins
would be put away once and for all (Hebrew 9:26). How sad it is to see people
who proclaim to be Christians sinning day after day. We have no excuse for
sin to remain in our lives. Don't you see , men could have forgiveness
before Christ came? He died that the righteous requirements of the law would
be fulfilled in us, which is no sin (Romans 8:3-5).We must walk in the
spirit (Galations 5:16). He promises that we will not sin if we do so.

The cruel, agonizing suffering of the life and death that Christ experienced
was to forgive and set us free from every sin. Thus, we can live a complete
victorious life before God and man all the days of our life (Luke 1:70-75).
Don't let anyone deceive you. The devil has been sinning from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the
devil (1 John 3:7,8,9). The works of the devil is sin. Christ came to destroy
that in us. Will we believe God or the devil? The devil would have us to
follow lust, which is sin. He has no truth in him and he has been lying to man from the
beginning. (John 8:44). John 8:36 says "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." Free from WHAT? Sin!!

How do we know if we or anyone else is walking in the truth? There are so many today proclaiming they know the truth, but they all believe something different.
Jesus said, "THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE." Free from sin (John 8:36). If an
assembly, preacher, or anyone claims to know the truth, but they are not free
from sin and don't believe one can be free from sin, then according to God's word
they do not know the truth.(1 John 2:4) Either we are a servant of righteousness and
made free from sin (Roman 6:18) or we are a servant of sin and deceiving
    ourselves (John 8:34), (1 John 3:6-9).

Let's quit deceiving ourselves and be doers of God's word (James 1:22), (Matthew 7:24-27).
Let's be honest with God, humble ourselves before Him (James 4:6), confess our unbelief, and believe what He has done for us!!
    (Romans 6:6-11).
     "Be Free!" (Mark 11:22-24).
