ETERNAL LIFE
1Timothy 6:11-12 "But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow
after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight
the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also
called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."
Timothy was being instructed to "lay hold on" "Eternal Life"--- thats
what the verse says.........Now it is obvious that if he already had "Eternal
Life" he would not have been exhorted by the Apostle to lay hold on it !!!!!
You see, so many (in these days) equate "Eternal Life" with their initial
xperience with the Lord......It is believed that "Eternal Life" = "Accepting
Jesus as Savior" = forgiveness = repentance, "etc. But this is simply not
so, for when we get a clear definition of what "Eternal Life" really is --- we
see it is far more than our first encounter with Christ !!!! Eternal Life
starts when SIN Stops!!!! And this is what has to be laid hold to !!!!
SIN CESSATION-----read 1 Peter 4:1+2........But since so many do not even
believe that sin can stop.......they never exercise their Faith to lay hold
on it !!!! We lay hold to "Eternal Life" (sin ceasing) when we believe
(with no doubt) that sin is eternally dead in us and can NO MORE raise its
ugly head-------This is true intimacy with God----this is the commencement
of Eternal Life----- and when it starts---it never stops !!!!!!! All sin
ceases ---and we are kept by the power of Christ----FOREVER!!!! And the
wicked one will NEVER touch us again !!!!! Read 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 5:18
...... Stir up the gift of faith that is within you.......lay hold to Gods
best---a life of "no more sin" ----a restful life----an unmoveable life---an
unreproveable life---a settled, grounded and established life-----AAAHHH!!!
a Perfect Life forever------THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE!!!!!!! What a wonderful
gift God has for men and women......and all He requires is that they believe
Him for it------What a victory Christ has provided !!!! Therefore, let's
examine ourselves as to whether or not we are "in this faith"..... 2 Cor 13:5.
