Now we are the body of Christ, and members in particular. Coming from different religious backgrounds; Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, Episcopal, etc. God has drawn us together by the truth of His word. Jesus said, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth... that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me."
God has convinced us that only by His grace can any of us walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love. He is well able to cause us to walk in His love; totally freed from love for the world and the things that are in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Our common purpose is to be used by God to glorify His Son through our relationships of fervent love one to another and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.
Our common desire is to comfort those which are in any trouble, by the
comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
